As with any language, learning Gaelic can be tough alone.
As part of our constituted purpose to promote both Gaelic music and the language, the Australian Gaelic Singers has offered public conversational language classes in Gaelic. The classes have unfortunately been in hiatus for a wee while, but will hopefully resume soon.
The classes are designed to provide an easy, structured approach to spoken Gaelic, in a friendly, non-competitive environment, with a focus on pronunciation, speech and aural comprehension.
They are led by Bran MacEachaidh, current musical director of the Australian Gaelic Singers and a former convenor of the Scottish Gaelic Association of Australia. In Sydney, we're seeking a new venue more accessible to folk from the inner city, the East and the North.
